When the ice retreats...

We visited a cave dug in "Mer de Glace". A great visit but sad though as we witnessed by how much the glacier had melted in a period of 30 years. At this elevation of 1925 m, it has losti n this timeframe more than 100 meters in thickness, the same thickness...

Great news today ! Eve had her second ultra-sound session today. The baby is doing OK and it seems that William will have a sister come the end of November... so we are all very happy. On the first 2 pictures, her 4 heart cavities can be seen very clearly....

Another boat trip...

This time with an electrical boat (oil engines not allowed in the Park) and late in the afternoon to avoid water releases by the dam used to generate electricity. We were then able to go deep upstream in the canyon... Amazing quietness and temperature...

Bicycle ride

Today we went for a 30 km bike ride. There are little roads exclusively made for bicycles. We went from Contis Plage to Mimizan and back but you can ride from Brittany all the way down to Portugal! On the way, wefound a lot of very tasty black berries....

Preparing the famous Leek Soup...

Every year a huge soup is prepared and sold on the Christmas market. Proceeds go to the schools to organise outings for the Children. Today we were about 20 parents and teachers to prepare the onions, potatoes, leeks, carrots (about 50 kg of each!)......
